COMMUNITY GRANTS APPLICATION

INSTRUCTIONS:

Please complete the application and upload the requested documents. All required materials must be received by the deadline for your organization's application to be considered complete. If you encounter any issues, please email the documents to communitygrants@jlsarasota.org.

DEADLINE: Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on August 1, 2026.

REQUIRED UPLOADS:

A copy of your organization's 501(c)(3) IRS Determination Letter or an updated Giving Partner Profile.
A project or program budget on organization letterhead. Please list all revenues and expenses, including other funding sources, amounts requested or awarded, and the current status of each funding source. Be as specific as possible.

GUIDELINES:

Organizations may request up to $10,000. Applicants are encouraged to request only the amount needed to successfully implement the proposed project or program, as smaller requests may allow JLS to support a greater number of organizations.
Only one Grant application may be submitted per organization.
Grant funds must support a project or program based in or around Sarasota County. Organizations located outside Sarasota County may be considered if the proposed project primarily benefits Sarasota County residents.
Priority is given to programs that support women, children, and families, including those addressing the needs of transitional youth.

EXCLUSIONS:

The following will not be considered: fundraising drives or related events, capital campaigns, political groups or candidates, sectarian or religious activities, and scholarship funds.

TIMELINE:

Applicants may be contacted in August and September for follow-up questions and potential site visits.
All applicants will be notified of grant decisions by September 2026.
Grant recipients must expend all awarded funds by March 30, 2027, and submit a final report within 30 days of full expenditure. The final report must include photos and/or videos illustrating the program's impact. If additional time is needed, an extension request must be submitted within this same timeframe.*
Grant recipients will be asked to participate in a Grants Panel for Junior League of Sarasota members in October 2026 to share their organization's mission and the impact of the grant.

* Organizations that fail to submit a final report or request an extension will be ineligible to apply for Junior League of Sarasota grants for up to two years.
