PLACEMENT CRITERIA

PLEASE NOTE: EACH AGENCY/PROGRAM MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION ANNUALLY TO BE EVALUATED FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR. IF AN APPLICATION IS NOT SUBMITTED FOR A SPECIFIC YEAR, THE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY WILL NOT BE REVIEWED.

The Junior League of Fort Worth (JLFW or the League) Placement Committee selects volunteer opportunities to fit our members’ vastly different needs and interests, while at the same time supporting the mission of the League. We seek to provide opportunities that will both utilize member strengths and talents and support the needs in our community. Our organization is continuously looking for Placements that provide a variety of choices for our members. Each JLFW member completes 50 volunteer hours per year (or job completion) at their assigned organization/program between June and May of the following year. If selected as a Placement, each organization must agree to place at least one article with photos on their website, newsletter or other media outlets highlighting JLFW Volunteers at their agency/program. We ask that the organization send publications to us as they occur. In return, the agency/program will be highlighted on our website and in our newsletter publication, The Lariat, which is distributed to all JLFW members and designated community leaders. These articles will be shared with you as they occur. Each agency must attend the Community Placement Fair, which will be held on January 12, 2027. This is an opportunity to meet JLFW members and provide insight into your organization, your program and your volunteer offerings for the following year.

The ever-changing needs of the community and JLFW membership require us to review, evaluate and select Placements on an annual basis. We are unable to serve Placements that require volunteers to travel outside of Tarrant County or are in areas where another Junior League already resides (such as in, Dallas County or Collin County). Placements that impact areas outside of Tarrant County will be considered, but priority will be given to organizations that directly impact Tarrant County and its residents.

- Day, night and weekend hours
- Morning and evening hours
- Summer, fall and spring work concentrations
Provides various locations around the city

INDEMNITY CLAUSE
The Junior League of Fort Worth, Inc. (the “League”) and all of its members, volunteers, officers, directors, employees, agents and indemnitees (collectively, "League Parties"), including, without limitation, any League Parties sitting on the Board of Directors of Agency (“Agency”) shall not be held liable for any acts or omissions, of whatsoever nature, of the Agency, its agents, assigns, directors, officers, affiliates, employees, or contractors (collectively, “Agency Parties”). Agency shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless the League and League Parties for, from and against any and all losses, damages, claims, or actions directly or indirectly arising out of, caused by, in connection with or resulting from (in whole or in part) (i) any acts or omissions of Agency and/or Agency Parties, (ii) the negligence or willful misconduct of Agency and/or Agency Parties and/or (iii) any loss or damage to the League or League Parties or their property, even if such acts or omissions are caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the League.

Insurance
If Agency’s application is approved by the League, Agency agrees to name The Junior League of Fort Worth, Texas, Inc. and its members, officers, directors, volunteers, employees, agents and representatives as an additional insured to its general liability and other applicable policies that provide coverage for services provided at Agency’s facility. Agency shall furnish the League acceptable certificates evidencing the above coverage prior to June 1, 2027.

Safety
The safety of League members and their personal property is a growing concern for the League. If the Agency receives volunteers from the League, the Agency will be expected to conduct a brief safety training during volunteer training or immediately prior to a volunteer shift (depending on Junior League programming). The training shall include security precautions specific to your agency.

What procedures are in place to track and report volunteer hours?

The JLFW prefers that our volunteers do not incur out-of-pocket expenses in connection with a placement. With that in mind, out-of-pocket amounts shall not exceed $20.00 per JLFW year. The JLFW is unable to require that a member complete a placement if the organization has not previously disclosed the fees/expenses. Please list any out-of-pocket expenses JLFW volunteers will incur in connection with the placement. Sample expenses may include parking fees, volunteer t-shirts, background checks, and vaccinations. If there are no out-of-pocket expenses expected, please put none.

Current JLFW Standing Rules do not allow volunteers to solicit donations for agencies as part of fulfilling Placement requirements. Please describe any fundraising opportunities offered to volunteers in exchange for credit hours.
