The Junior League of Sarasota partners with local nonprofit organizations to provide volunteers, supplies, and coordination for high-impact community projects.

PROJECT TYPES

Done in a Day (DIAD): JLS-planned and coordinated community projects that provide hands-on volunteer opportunities, typically completed in one 2–6 hour shift. Supply funding of up to $1,000 may be available for selected projects.
Done in a Meeting (DIAM): High-impact service activities completed during a JLS gathering, such as supply drives, assembling kits, writing cards, or sorting donations.

DEADLINE: Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on August 1, 2026.

REQUIRED UPLOADS:

501(c)(3) IRS Determination Letter or updated Giving Partner Profile
Project budget (if requesting funding)
Photos and/or videos of the project space (if requesting a physical transformation project)

GUIDELINES:

Projects should align with JLS’s mission and create meaningful impact for women, children, and families in our community.
Projects should be completed between October 2026 and April 2027.
Organizations must have current 501(c)(3) status.
Funding, if awarded, may only be used for project-related supplies.
Recipients will be asked to participate in a Project Fair for JLS members in October 2026 to share their organization's mission and the impact of the project.
Applications may be considered for a variety of Junior League volunteer opportunities based on project fit and League capacity.

EXCLUSIONS:
The following will not be considered: fundraising drives or related events, capital campaigns, political groups or candidates, sectarian or religious activities, and scholarship funds.

TIMELINE:
Applicants may be contacted in August and September for follow-up questions and potential site visits. Organizations will be notified of decisions by September 2026. Selected organizations agree to collaborate with JLS throughout project planning and execution and to provide impact details, photos, and testimonials following project completion.
