JLA Community Placement Application (2026-2027)

Agency Application for JLA Community Placement for League Year June 2027-May 2028

All volunteer requests must be for community-based, hands-on opportunities and fall into one (or more) of the Leagueʼs focus areas: commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking; early childhood education and literacy; self determination of women and children; and, generational poverty.

A partner agency may receive volunteers only or may receive a combination of volunteers and funding based on mission, impact area, measurable community impact, membership interest, and available JLA resources. Only agencies completing one or more years as a community partner with JLA may qualify for volunteer placement.

Criteria:

  • Applications must be submitted on the JLA electronic form provided and submitted with all required documents by the deadline.
  • Applicant must be a current JLA partner for at least one year.
  • Applicant must maintain tax-exempt nonprofit status as approved by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Applicant must submit a copy of its latest financial audit.
  • Community programs must fall within the current JLA focus areas.

Volunteers and funds may not be used for the following:

  • Salaried employees or other general administrative line items
  • Debt reduction, debt payments or other financial obligations
  • Fundraising events, fundraising initiatives, or agency endowments
  • Political campaigns, membership drives or for volunteer projects that are religious in nature 
  • Administrative duties not related to contracted volunteer duties.

JLA will provide funding for activities and materials required to execute the volunteers’ responsibilities, including:

  1. Program supplies & materials
  2. Meals for clients
  3. Training
  4. Background checks
  5. Required certifications (i.e.: mandated reporter training, etc.)

Funding for activities outside of the JLA Volunteer responsibilities WILL NOT be considered.
