Fund Description: Fund established by The Junior League of Huntsville (JLH) to support Huntsville/Madison County and its local charities.

Areas of Exclusion: Organizations not organized as 501(c)(3) public charities, Debt reduction, Endowment campaigns, Grants to individuals, Special events, Annual campaigns, Membership drives, Operating costs or unrestricted funding, an initiative that’s already been launched, Conference expenses, Political activities, religious activities, including education initiatives meant to directly influence political activity

Grant Award Process: Applications are submitted to projectimpact@jlhuntsville.com. The JLHs Project Impact Committee will review all submissions and select the top three finalists. The finalists will present their projects to the JLH’s members who will then vote for the finalist of their choice. The finalist with the highest plurality of the votes will receive the Project Impact grant. Grant Cycle: Project Impact grant is awarded once per league year (ending in May). Applications open in the fall for awards during the current League year.

Project Impact - Grant Proposal

Please submit a written grant proposal that addresses the following questions:

1. Organizational Mission Statement: What is your organization's board-approved mission statement? (100 word maximum)

2. Organization's Primary Community Focus: Describe your primary focus. (50 word maximum)

We are looking to award funds to an organization that has a well-defined plan for a new, tangible project that is innovative and ready to make an immediate impact. The project must be executed by May 2026 (which is the end of the JLH league year). Funding will NOT be provided for operating expenses or initiatives that have already been launched. JLH will be affiliated with the project, so we are happy to assist with volunteer day(s), or answer questions from a non-profit perspective as you reach your project milestones to launch the final project.

3. Project Title: Please provide a brief, descriptive name of the project.

4. Amount Requested: Provide an itemized budget showing how the funds will be allocated throughout the scope of your project (clearly include labor, materials, and other costs). Attach supporting documentation if needed.

5. Project Impact Summary: Summarize how your proposal will benefit Huntsville/Madison County. Describe the project scope, activities and the intended community impact. (300 word maximum)

6. Project Duration: If awarded funding, specify the anticipated start and end dates for using the grant funds. Example: Funds will be used between [Month] [2025] and [Month] [2026].

7. Community Need Description: Please provide supporting studies or details demonstrating this is a community need, such as data from Census.gov, United Way community needs reports, or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). When possible, cite your sources in the format: Organization Name, Report Title, Year. (150 word maximum)

8. Project Differentiation: What sets your project apart from other organizations currently addressing this community need? (150 word maximum)

9. Project Scope And Key Milestones: What key milestones will confirm that the program is progressing toward its projected outcomes? Example: project launch, first workshop delivered, mid-project evaluation, or target number served. (150 word maximum)

10. Proposed Outcomes: What outcomes will this project deliver and what methods will you use to measure them? (150 word maximum)

11. Project Sustainability: If selected for funding, how will your organization sustain the project beyond the JLH Project Impact grant funding? (150 word maximum) Note: You may include plans for follow-up funding, board or volunteer support, partnerships, or integration into your long-term strategy.

12. Project Challenges: Do you anticipate any challenges as you plan to achieve the intended outcomes? If so, how will you overcome those challenges? (150 word maximum)

13. Individuals or Groups: Impacted Please provide details about the individuals or groups who will be impacted by this project. (150 word maximum)

14. Staff Summary: List the names and titles of key staff and/or volunteers who will have the greatest responsibility for implementing the proposed project? Describe the skills and experiences they bring to this project? (150 word maximum)

15. Project Partners: Will you partner with other organizations for this project? If so, name the organization and describe the role they will play, including monetary or in-kind support.
