Since 1925, the women in the Junior League of Spokane have been champions for the betterment of the Inland Northwest community, and we remain keenly alert to emerging opportunities to improve the world we live in. The projects we have spearheaded and supported are critically important to community needs, including:
Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery
Innovia Foundation (previously Inland Northwest Community Foundation)
Crosswalk Teen Shelter
Local arts, including Riverfront Park’s “Childhood Express” Red Wagon designed by artist Ken Spiering
Touch-a-Truck community event
We aren’t slowing down. Our entirely volunteer-based membership is tackling our current focus area of childhood literacy with a vengeance. Six local charities now have fully-stocked reading corners built by women in the Junior League of Spokane. Nearly 2,000 books have been distributed throughout our community, and we’ve granted $2,875 to local schools, teachers and non-profit partners who work tirelessly to improve childhood literacy rates.
We see the issues. We create solutions. We change the community we live in for the better, all while developing leadership skills and training women who join the mission of the Junior League of Spokane.
The work we do is worthy of your support. Your investment not only empowers the Junior League of Spokane to develop civic leaders, but expands the capacity of our non-profit partners. Your donation allows us to continue to enhance the community in which we all live. Thank you in advance for your support.
